Important things to know
The house is new 1800 sq. ft. construction. It does have enough beds to accommodate 6 individuals, it was designed to focus on nature not “creature comforts” yet still meet the highest standards you deserve. That said, we recognize we may have missed something. Please advise us if something needs attention.
Heating/Cooling:
The house has two mini-split systems. If you are not familiar with these systems, please read the manual that is in the closet in the kitchen. These systems behave differently from older systems. For example, when you first turn the system on, there may be no response for up to seven minutes. This is the time it takes the computers to ‘discuss’ their options, measure indoor and outdoor temperatures, and consider whatever the computer thinks is necessary.. Another example: each room can be set at a different temperature, but all settings must be either for heat or cooling. It isn’t possible to heat some rooms while cooling others on the same system. For consistent temperature control in the larger bedroom and the dining/kitchen area, use the third level of fan speed. At this speed, the high placement of the heating/cooling unit causes the system to read a temperature that is one or two degrees higher than the lower portion of those rooms. At low fan speed, there is insufficient air movement, and the heating unit reads several degrees higher, causing it to shut off before the lower portion of the room is at the desired temperature.
In most cases, the best way to cool the house is to open one or more windows on the lower level, open one or more windows on the upper level, and let fresh air flow through the house.
Garbage:
If garbage needs to be disposed of during your stay, do not place it outside. Critters are likely to visit anytime garbage is left out. One of those critters may be a skunk or maybe even a bear - neither make for fun houseguests.
Cleaning:
Note that the cleaning fee is partly reimbursable. If the house is left in good condition, the cleaning team charges us less, and we pass all of the savings back to you.
Please remove shoes as you enter the house.
Please avoid smoking in or near the house. (See contract for details.)
EV Charging:
The EV charger is kept in the closet nearest the kitchen. Please CAREFULLY connect this to the power cord outside by the steps nearest the driveway. (Note that the connectors are easily bent, but not easily replaceable)
If charging your car, please set charging amps to not more than 25 amps. Higher charge rates will cause the circuit to fail.
